报告摘要:

One-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) nanostructures are of prime interest due to their tunable band gaps with strong promise for augmented multifunctional optoelectronic devices with flexible novel performance. This talk will present a comprehensive review summarizing the recent research progress that pertinent to the diverse synthesis, fundamental properties and unique applications of 1D and 2D nanostructures. With multifunctional applications in mind, various experimental techniques of the rational design and synthesis of high quality 1D and 2D nanostructures are highlighted. Fundamentals on the optical and photoelectrical properties of these nanoscaled semiconductors, associated with the corresponding investigation techniques, are also particularly discussed. Furthermore, I will present the versatile potentials of terahertz time-domain spectroscopy on practical applications including the aspects in characterizations of nanomaterials and non-destructive test in industry and security.
